MUSEUM EXPERIENCE:
- 2004 - current Established an avian collection (including tissue samples) at the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAAAC). I am currently curating this small collection that grew by over 3000 specimens in its first 4 years.
- 2001 - 2003 Preparation of avian specimens for the Bell Museum, University of Minnesota.
- 1992 - 2001 Extensive museum training at the Burke Museum, University of Washington including cataloging specimens in the computerized database, curation of skin, skeleton, extended wing, and tissue collections, and processing skeletons through a beetle colony.
I have prepared a total of over 4400 specimens for several museums (UW Burke Museum, University of Alaska Anchorage Avian Collection, UM Bell Museum, National Museum of Natural History SI, Yale University Peabody Museum, UNLV Barrick Museum, American Museum of Natural History, LSU Museum of Natural Sciences, U of UT, UPS Slater Museum, Moscow State University Zoological Museum, State Darwin Museum, Moscow, Russia and USNM). Whether they are round skins, flat skins, or skin/skeleton combinations, almost all of these specimens have associated extended wings and tissue samples.
